Vacations

The first day finished off on a much nicer note than it started… It wasn’t looking good for a while with on and off rain for most of the journey. By the time we reached the Wild Center, the sun was already starting to poke out from behind the clouds. If you love the outdoors, I would highly recommend a visit to the museum. A mere $15 buys you an incredible journey for the entire family. I can’t recall a more family friendly museum; kids are actually encouraged to touch things and even take them home!

Sunset over Lake Placid
 Â
I love taking pictures, especially when I’m on vacation in the mountains.  The outstanding photo handling abilities of Wordpress was one of the reasons I chose this platform for our new blog offering. But for someone who is known for taking gigabytes of pictures in a single day, I know that as nice as it is, it’s not enough for a serious picture taking fanatic like myself.  I’ve been looking at various photo site packages like Gallery 2 and Coppermine as a potential offering here at Boardoo. What would you like to see here at Boadoo for your photos?  I would like to get your opinion.

We are finally on our to Lake Placid and a planned stop at the Wild Center; Adirondack Natural History Museum in Tupper Lake. I have a feeling that we are going to have a wet week if yesterday and today are any indication.

On the bright side, we made it to Blue Mountain Lake!

And so another year’s vacation starts and it is raining hard here in the Tug Hill.

Camp in the rain!
Which reminds me, support respone times will be a little slower for the next few days since we are both away. Rest assured though, we are still “minding the store” plus I plan to post occasionally throughout our long weekend too.

Do you want your own blog that you can customize as you like, like this one? Then I have good news for you as I have just finished putting the finishing touches for the beta launch of Boardoo Blogs! which is the same service that powers this blog.
Boardoo Blogs! offers free Wordpress powered blogs with no limits on posts, comments, links, etc, and you also get 50 MB of space for uploading pictures, videos, and other files for posting in your blog! Best of all, I’m giving you all of that, plus a selection of 150 hand-picked Wordpress themes to choose from, and a personalized subdomain for free!
Here is the Signup Link Just follow a couple steps to get your blog activated and you will be blogging in minutes, I promise! One more thing, if you already have a Boardoo Free Forum, you can actually put your blog under your forums subdomain! Unfortunately our order system won’t allow you to do that during signup, so to start with, pick a temporary subdomain and then open a support ticket indicating you wish to have your blog and forum share the same subdomain. My staff will take care of the rest.
Happy blogging!

Welcome to “What’s new, Boardoo?”; News, rumors, and other musings from Boardoo’s founder.
My plan is to use this space to communicate what is going on behind the scenes at Boardoo, including new projects, stuff we’re planning, or just some random ideas we’re considering. There is a lot going on behind the scenes at Boardoo, and this will be our way of letting you know!
We have a lot of great projects in the works, including a phpBB upgrade, a major social networking expansion, and image hosting, and a few others that are still in the planning stages. I personally look forward to providing more details as these projects come closer to completion. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your stay here at Boardoo.
